Is there a pet-immune wireless PIR motion detector for Honeywell and DSC panels?

The Versa PIR-DUAL is a pet-immune wireless PIR (immune to pets up to 55 lb) that works with Honeywell (345 MHz / 5800-series, including VISTA and, with the PROTAKEOVER module, Resideo PROA7), plus Qolsys (IQ Panel 4 and IQ Panel 5, with the 319.5 MHz SRF card) and GE/Interlogix on 319.5 MHz and 2GIG on 345 MHz. It does not cover DSC PowerSeries, which receives legacy wireless at 433 MHz — the PIR-DUAL is a 319.5/345 MHz detector. For DSC 433 MHz, Versa currently offers the MINI-433 door/window contact; a 433 MHz Versa motion detector is not yet in the line.

Is the PIR-DUAL pet immune?

Yes — up to 55 lb. Two pyroelectric elements and a digital signal-processing engine require a qualified sequence of polarity changes to declare an alarm, which rejects drafts, sunlight, and pets while still detecting a person crossing the coverage area.

Can one motion detector work on both Qolsys and Honeywell panels?

Yes. The PIR-DUAL has a frequency switch — set it to 319.5 MHz for Qolsys and GE/Interlogix, or 345 MHz for Honeywell 5800 and 2GIG. One SKU covers both ecosystems, so you carry a single pet-immune motion detector instead of a different model for each brand.

Do I need anything extra to use the PIR-DUAL on a Qolsys IQ Panel 4 or IQ Panel 5?

The panel must have the 319.5 MHz RF (SRF) daughter card installed — this applies to both the IQ Panel 4 and the newer IQ Panel 5. These panels support PowerG plus one legacy frequency (319.5, 345, or 433 MHz) depending on the card installed — a 319.5 sensor only enrolls on a 319.5-equipped panel. Set the PIR-DUAL to 319.5 MHz (switch ON) and use Auto Learn Sensor.

How do I enroll the PIR-DUAL on a Resideo PROA7?

Set the PIR-DUAL to 345 MHz (switch OFF). The PROA7/PROA7PLUS needs the PROTAKEOVER module with its rotary switch on 0 (5800 Series). In Local Programming (Tools, installer code 4112, Programming), choose Add Sensor, pick the 5800 or Takeover type, learn the serial by tripping the sensor, set Loop 1, and assign an interior-follower response. PROTAKEOVER runs alongside the panel's built-in PROSiX sensors.

What battery does the PIR-DUAL use and how long does it last?

One CR123A 3 V lithium battery, with a 3+ year typical life. The detector supervises itself and sends a low-battery report to the panel, so you get advance warning before it dies.
