Our Story
Julian and Justin Carlson have been building security sensors together since 2001.
They started by developing products for OEM partners — designing sensors for the largest security manufacturers in the industry. Products they couldn't put their name on. Products that ended up in hundreds of thousands of installations across North America, selling at multiples of what their partners had forecasted.
Over the next two decades, Julian and Justin quietly engineered multiple OEM products for the biggest names in residential and commercial security. Each one had to be smaller, longer-lasting, and higher-performing than what already existed — or it didn't get made. You've almost certainly seen their work in the field.
Why Versa
In 2014, Julian and Justin founded Versa Wireless with one goal: take everything they'd learned building sensors for other brands and build something for the market directly.
For over a decade they'd watched installers work around products that weren't designed with them in mind. Sensors that were too bulky. Covers that required tools to open. Contacts that made you walk back to the panel to confirm placement. They'd been solving those problems quietly for other companies. It was time to solve them under their own name.
The result is a product line built on three principles:

Patented Bluefield technology tells you everything you need to know at the door — magnet in range, signal confirmed, battery status — without a trip back to the panel. High-performance
Small doesn't mean weak. Our sensors achieve range performance close to sensors twice their size, with battery life that outperforms the category. We don't compromise on what matters.
Who We Are
Versa Wireless is a father-and-son company — Julian Carlson and Justin Carlson. Julian brings the business experience and the industry relationships built over two decades. Justin brings the product vision and the drive to keep pushing into new territory. We're based in the Pacific Northwest, and we distribute through WAVE Electronics — a partner who shares our belief that security professionals deserve better tools.
We're not trying to be the biggest name in the industry. We're trying to be the most trusted one — the company that security dealers reach for when they want something that actually works, installs cleanly, and doesn't create callbacks.
We've been building toward this for 25 years. We're just getting started.
