LAMP-ZW2 Z-Wave Plug-In Dimmer
The LAMP-ZW2 is a Z-Wave 800 Series Long Range plug-in lamp dimmer that installs in minutes: plug it into a grounded outlet, add it to your Z-Wave controller, and control on/off plus smooth 0-100% dimming.
It runs on 908.42 MHz (US) and pairs with any Z-Wave certified controller, including Alarm.com, 2GIG EDGE, Qolsys IQ, SmartThings, Hubitat, and Home Assistant. Quick start: plug in the dimmer, put your hub in add mode, press the program button 3x quickly (or scan the SmartStart QR code), and assign it to a lamp load of up to 200W incandescent or 100W dimmable LED/CFL.

LED indicator
A single status LED on the front of the dimmer reports its state. The normal color is set by parameter 3 (default blue).

Where to plug it in
Plug the LAMP-ZW2 into a grounded 125VAC wall outlet in a dry, indoor location. For best Z-Wave range, avoid metal enclosures and large appliances that can block the signal. Because every mains-powered LAMP-ZW2 is an always-on repeater, placing it between your controller and more distant battery nodes strengthens the whole mesh. Installation steps
Plug in the dimmer
Insert the LAMP-ZW2 into a grounding-type 125VAC outlet. The status LED lights to show the device has power. Plug your lamp or dimmable fixture into the outlet on the front of the module.
Put your controller in add mode
On your Z-Wave hub or panel, open the add-device (inclusion) screen and start the process. Follow your controller's on-screen instructions. Keep the dimmer within range of the hub during pairing; you can move it to its final location afterward.
Add the device
With the controller ready, press the program button on the dimmer 3x quickly. The LED flashes during inclusion. Once paired, the LED returns to solid, and the dimmer appears in your controller for groups, schedules, and automations.
Test on/off and dimming
Press the program button once to toggle the load on and off. Press and hold to dim up or down. Confirm your controller shows the correct on/off state and dim level.
Button functions
The program button on the LAMP-ZW2 handles both everyday control and setup. Every action is a specific press pattern:

Removing the device (exclusion)
To remove the LAMP-ZW2 from a Z-Wave network, start the remove-device (exclusion) process on your controller, then press the program button 3x quickly. Excluding the dimmer resets its network settings so it can be added to a new controller.
Factory reset
Press the program button 2x quickly, then hold the 3rd press for 10 seconds. Use a factory reset only if the primary controller is missing or inoperable. A solid magenta LED means the device is still paired - exclude it normally first if the controller is available.
Setting minimum and maximum brightness
You can trim the dimming range at the device so the connected bulb never flickers at the bottom or buzzes at the top:
Minimum brightness (param 11)
Press the button 5x quickly - the LED flashes slowly. Hold to set the minimum level, then press 5x to confirm (or wait 10 seconds).
Maximum brightness (param 12)
Press the button 10x quickly - the LED flashes slowly. Hold to set the maximum level, then press 10x to confirm (or wait 10 seconds).

Configure these from your hub's Z-Wave configuration screen. The LED flashes 3x to confirm a parameter change.

Compatible controllers and panels
The LAMP-ZW2 works with any Z-Wave certified controller, and all non-battery Z-Wave nodes act as repeaters regardless of vendor. Versa officially lists the following as compatible: Alarm.com, 2GIG EDGE, Qolsys IQ, SmartThings, Hubitat, and Home Assistant (with a Z-Wave 800 controller). The dimmer is officially Alarm.com approved, so dealers can add it to an Alarm.com account and control it natively - no secondary app or workaround. Association groups
- Group 1 - Lifeline: Binary Switch Report and Device Reset Locally. Group 1 must be assigned to the primary controller's Node ID; most controllers configure this automatically.
- Group 2 - Basic Set ON/OFF: sends a Basic Set command triggered by the local button, so pressing the dimmer can control associated devices directly.
