MINI-433 Door/Window Sensor

The Versa MINI-433 is a compact 433 MHz wireless door/window transmitter that enrolls as a supervised single-zone contact on DSC PowerSeries PC1832 and PC1864, Impassa, and Alexor panels.

To install: stick the transmitter to the door or window frame, place the magnet on the moving part within the magnet gap, put your DSC panel in RF enrollment mode, and trip the sensor to learn it in. The patented Bluefield blue LED confirms magnet alignment at the opening, so you set placement without walking back to the panel.

Before you begin You need the MINI-433 transmitter and its magnet (double-faced tape is included for both), a fresh Panasonic CR2032 coin cell, access to your DSC panel in wireless/RF enrollment mode, and your panel's installation manual for zone programming. No tools are required for a tape mount.

LED indicators

The MINI-433 has three LEDs. The blue and green LEDs stay active for 15 minutes after the battery is first installed or the cover is removed, then sleep to save power.

LED What it means
Blue (Bluefield) Lights when the magnet is within proper range of the transmitter (1 inch max). Active for 15 minutes after the battery is first installed or the cover is removed.
Green Flashes each time the MINI-433 transmits. Active for 15 minutes after the battery is first installed or the cover is removed.
Red Low-battery condition: flashes once about every five seconds for two minutes after a transmission.

Choosing a mounting location

Pick a spot where the transmitter stays stationary and the magnet rides on the moving part of the door or window. Before you commit the tape, check your control panel's instruction manual for how to confirm RF signal strength from that location.

  • Keep the operating environment within 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C) and away from moisture.
  • Keep the transmitter and magnet away from metal or metallic surfaces such as foil wallpaper.
  • Avoid areas with a large quantity of metal or electrical wiring, such as a furnace or utility room.
  • Use the adhesive tape provided to mount both the transmitter and the magnet.

Mount the MINI-433 and magnet

STEP 1

Mount the transmitter

Mount the MINI-433 on the frame of the protected door or window using the supplied double-faced tape.

STEP 2

Mount the magnet

Mount the magnet on the door itself or the opening portion of the window, aligned with the magnet-alignment indicator rib on the transmitter. Keep the gap within 1 inch on wood or 1/4 inch on metal. Confirm the blue Bluefield LED lights when the door or window is closed.

Enroll the MINI-433 on your panel

STEP 3

Learn it in and program the zone

  1. Place your panel in its preferred RF/wireless enrollment mode.
  2. When prompted, open or close the magnet to send the device ID.
  3. Complete zone programming as directed by your panel's installation manual.
  4. Alternatively, enter the device serial number into the control during programming.

Battery replacement

The MINI-433 uses one 3VDC Panasonic CR2032 lithium coin cell, and the cover slides off by hand so you can service it with the sensor still mounted. To replace the battery:

  1. Slide the top cover in the direction shown to open it, and remove the old battery.
  2. Install a fresh CR2032 with the + side up.
  3. Replace the cover and slide it in the opposite direction from opening.
Battery caution Risk of fire, explosion, and burns. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 212°F (100°C), or incinerate; dispose of used batteries properly. This product contains a coin/button cell: a swallowed battery can cause internal chemical burns in as little as two hours and can be fatal. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children, and seek immediate medical attention if one is swallowed.

Compatible panels

The MINI-433 works with DSC control panels that support one-way 433 MHz wireless. That covers the DSC PowerSeries PC1832 and PC1864 equipped with a 433 MHz wireless receiver (such as the RF5132-433), the DSC Impassa, and the DSC Alexor. It programs as a standard supervised contact zone. For zone-programming keystrokes and RF signal-strength testing, follow your panel manufacturer's installation instructions.
